Day 1

Why do we do Mission trips? It is a question I ask myself every July. This is the 6th Mission trip I have led since I have been at AU and I have to say that each year I wonder whether all of the preparation that went into the trip will be worth it.......that is until I see all of the smiling faces of the returning girls and the nervous energy of the incoming freshmen. I don't know what God has in store for us but I do know this, God is Good and it is exciting to serve Him.
Shane Claiborne in his book IRRESISTIBLE REVOLUTION talks about what Dietrich  Bonhoeffer called the cost of discipleship. As Claiborne says "we are the Body of Christ, the hands and feet of Jesus to the world." We are here to answer that call and find out what God has in store for us in Naco, Mexico.
